The Little Things

Have you taken time yet to think of some goals for next year?? The card to the left is actually the cover to the "Goals... 2007" list that I made up for myself and my Sunday School class of High School gals. Inside I printed a sheet for us to write out our goals in each of 10 areas.

Here are the catagories... just to get you thinking!

A Fruit of the Spirit to work on... A Chapter to Memorize... A Devotional Goal... A Skill to Learn... A Project to Finish... A Person to Pray for... A Missionary to Adopt... People to Write to Often... New Meals to Learn to Prepare... Good Books to Read...

I know there are many more things I could work on, but if I meet my goals in half of these, I'll be thrilled!!

The stamp set I used is a new set called Polka Dots & Paisley that will be coming out in the Spring Mini Catalog. I wouldn't have picked it as being "my style", but Stampin' Up! sent it to all demonstrators as a Christmas present, so I thought I'd try it. I really, really liked it when I used softer colors!! Unfortunately, I'm still figuring out my new camera, so the pastels aren't as true as I'd like in the picture. Just imagine that the cardstock colors are Celery, Amethyst and Regal Rose. The flower is colored with Celery, Amethyst, Bashful Blue, Regal Rose & Apricot Appeal markers and it's tied up with a pink gingham ribbon. If you don't have any of SU's gingham ribbon, I would highly recommend it! It is so versatile and fun!!

I'll be gone from now through the day after Christmas, so I won't be posting. Thank you all for reading and have a wonderful Christmas!! :)

Mom's Christmas Box

Wow! That was a process! I received some Christmas money that my husband wanted me to spend "on myself" - so, after much painful deliberation (Is anyone else horrible at making decisions? There were WAY too many choices!!) I decided to get a digital camera. It wasn't a very "fun" purchase for me. I really don't love digital cameras - but I wanted to be able to put 3-D images on my BLOG... so here you go!! :)

This is the card box that I made for my Mom for Christmas, using the Designer paper from the last mini catalog. I'm so pleased with it! I hope Mom likes it. Are you all ready for Christmas? We celebrated with our family on Tuesday night, so I feel like I can already breathe a sigh of relief. Tomorrow we leave for downstate where we'll have Christmas with both sets of parents & all the brothers and sisters.

Merry Christmas... if I don't see you before then!

Christmas Love Notes

I am so excited!!! :) School is done, the cantatas we've been practising for are done, most of my presents are done... if not wrapped... and I'm on VACATION!!!!!! Ahhhhhh. :) These little love notes use the Designer Paper from the winter mini catalog & the J from the retired JOY set. I made them in sets of three and added an RSVP pen lined with matching paper, tied them with a stitched cranberry ribbon (which I love!) and gave them to the teenage girls in my Sunday School class as a gift. They seemed to like them, and I'm sure they'll come in handy as thank you's after the holidays.

Are you all "caught up" for Christmas?? My house is upside down (I'm going to let FlyLady help me "crisis clean" today) and we're supposed to have our family Christmas tomorrow, so I think I'll sign off for now! :)

Think Outside the Stamps

Hi everyone!

I just had to share the card I made tonight - even if it isn't stamped. The teacher that I work with said that she would like to have a "little dog". This was the closest thing I could find. :) The scottie dog is a Mary Engelbreit cross stitch from the Dollar Spot at Michaels. I backed it with fabric and attached it with brads so she can take it off and use it for a bookmark... and also because none of the tape I had would stick to the fabric! :)

I attached fabric to the cardstock using Steam-a-Seam. (It's like interfacing that's sticky on both sides). Then I tied it all up with a polka dot bow. It makes me smile! I have some more cards to do tonight - so maybe I'll post twice... if they turn out!

Simple Snowman

I have been so incredibly busy this week with traveling and school that I haven't had a minute to stamp! This is the card that I had my 5th graders do for "Mrs. Traxler Tuesday". We stamped 4 cards to use as thank you notes, and colored them in with watercolor pencils and blender pens. The kids thought it was fabulous. Even the one boy in my class loved it! :)

Only 7 more school days until break. Maybe I'll be able to find time to decorate my house for Christmas then!! Keep checking back. I'll try to put up a card every few days, even if I'm swamped!! :)

Oh - let me know if you're interested in receiving a Sell-A-Bration brochure. We'll be having a get-together in early to mid-January to play with the Sell-A-Bration sets... which I just LOVE!! :)

Bye!!
