Home Again!

We had such a wonderful time on spring break!! :) We went to Tulsa, OK for the sole purpose of going to a huge cross-stitch store. It was a 12 hour drive from my parents... which is a 4 hour drive from me!! What a fabulous store and what friendly people. We really wanted to stay. :) I picked up my first Vera Bradley bag... which I just love... and lots of cross-stitching supplies for myself and my two daughters. My dad sat in the car in the sunshine and slept. On the way home we stopped at the Precious Moments Chapel in Carthage, MO. What a special place. Then we drove through Branson... which was definitely NOT our idea of fun. We are such small town folks!

I made this card before I left. The "rick-rack" is a piece from the SAB Scrappin' kit that I did some paper piercing on. The cross is by TAC - embossed in gold detail ep and then watercolored.

Thanks for stopping!

Spring Break!

It's Spring Break & I'm going on a road trip!! If I can get out of here tomorrow... but we're supposed to get 4-6 inches of snow tonight. So... this will be my last post for a week or so - which really isn't that different, so maybe you won't miss me. :)
This card was my attempt at a quick polished stone background. First I stamped the flowers with my Versamark pad and clear embossed the ones in the lower corner. Then, I used my old bottle of "shimmer spray"... (Made of alcohol and lumiere, maybe??? I know I have the recipe here somewhere. It made your card shimmery when you sprayed it on) Anyway, I put a little shimmer spray on a cotton ball & swiped it across my glossy cardstock. Then used a drop of 3 different blue reinkers to make the background. I stamped the doodle from the SAB set in Navy over the top and finished it up as a sympathy card.
Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Not Lion!!

Am I the worst ever blogger, or what??? I've had this card done since last week & I'm just now posting it. So sorry! Life's a little hairy here. We're redoing a bathroom. What a mess!! This little card was for my nephew's birthday. The images are a TAC limited edition set. I love their mini sets!!!!! :) Here's a question for any of you. Do any of you ladies have a Vera Bradley bag?? I am a quilter and cross stitcher and I just came across these bags "in real life". I love them! Do any of you have them and like them or are they a waste of money?? Just wondering!
I have a couple more cards to post, so check back again in a day or two!! :) Bye!

A Wish For You

Oh, I had so much fun with this card! The colors are Saffron, Vanilla & Regal Rose and the Wishing Well is from an old SU set called - of all things - Wishing Well! :) The swirlies on the background are from one of the Sell-A-Bration sets & the word stamp is another one from Michael's $1 spot. I love these word stamps! I wish now that I had gotten a few more of them. The handwriting is so.... whimsical, or something. :) I used watercolor pencils and a blender pen on the Wishing Well and then I did a wash of color over the vanilla background with a marker and an aquapainter. And I used glitter. I love glitter. I wear glitter for days after I get it out!! :)
Thanks for stopping by!

Good Catch!

I have the most wonderful link for you to visit! It's called Kimm's Stamping Studio. It has wonderful tutorials and a place to sign up for stamping workouts. Kind of like FlyLady missions for stamping. :) Very fun! This is one of the cards that I made for this week's challenge... Three masculine cards... The background is a stamp of Isaiah 40:31 which I stamped over with Linen. The Happy Anniversary stamp is from Michael's $1 spot and the little fishing fly is from a TAC set. The colors are Moss & Bravo Burgundy. The size?? 3x3 And, to add a little humor - the inside says "Good Catch!!" :) heehee! Check out Kimm's site if you need some order to your stamping life!!

Messies Anonymous

I dug into my Sell-A-Bration Simply Scrappin' Kit to make tonight's project. I picked up the book "The Messies Manual" last weekend. It was like looking into a mirror!! :) So... I took the plunge and made myself the notebook that the author recommended. I split up household jobs for myself & my three kids - 4 weeks worth! (Don't ask me how long it took... My messy mind does NOT handle that much detail very well) - And I set up two weeks of gluten-free menus to rotate until I find more recipes. I put everything in page protectors, bought my binder & then used most of my decorative paper to make it pretty. You obviously can't use a notebook that is not pretty! :) I like how "springy" it is... but I'm sad that all of my pretty green cardstock is gone now. I don't like the white with stripes as much. :(

We had a snow day today and will hopefully have another tomorrow. Ahhh.... life is good! :)
