Blog Candy Sighting!

Look at Lim's yummy blog candy!  Wouldn't this be fun to win?  Be sure to stop by her wonderful blog and say hello!

Let's Go Sledding!

The challenge for the week at Tilda & Friends was to make an ATC, but use it on something else.  The DT this week had some adorable ideas.  I made mine easier and just put Tilda on a card.  Notice... more faux stitching and that Threading Water punch again. :)

Can you believe that it won't be long and it will be winter?  We have a *really* long sidewalk to shovel now.  The kids are begging for a snowblower, but I'm not sure that is as much in the budget as three good snow shovels.  LOL!! :)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Cross Stitch Bunny

I just love this Happy Hoppers stamp with the cross stitching bunny.  Especially considering how much I love to cross-stitch.  And I love pretty scissors - Ginghers especially.  And I thoroughly enjoyed useing my new threading water punch!!! :)  It looks like eyelet, and I got such a good deal on it, cuz it was 50% off at Hobby Lobby.   I colored the picture with prismas and OMS and then used my new Linen Distress Ink to sponge around it.  You'll notice a lot of distressing this week.  Once I started, I couldn't stop!! :)  Thanks for stopping by!

More Snow!

It's Saturday!  Time to make 7 cards to post next week! :)  I've been to town already, the bed is made, the dishes are done.... It's crafting time!!!!!!!   Here's another Magnolia snowman colored with Prismas and OMS.  I don't usually use thick ribbon embellishments when I'm going to be mailing a card, but this one just needed that little bit of something extra. I think I need 12 Christmas cards for a swap I'm in, and I'm on number 10, so I'll try to make at least one for my pile of cards today.  I'm going to work on getting my pictures a little brighter as well.  I still haven't figured out the best way to edit pictures on my laptop.  If I move the screen it changes how it looks.  Hmmmm.....

BTW - if you're looking for a new Bible Cover or have some Christmas gifts to buy, check out my GraceWorks blog!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Dutch Dare Card

The challenge on Dutch Dare this week is to make a guy card.  OK, so maybe I wouldn't send this to a man, but I think my nephew might like it! :)  I used the cute little monkey from It's My Birthday by CC Designs and colored him with the Stampin' Up markers.  He's cut out and popped up on a circle and scalloped circle mat that I punched with my Marvy punches.  Some faux stitching, distressed edges (done with Prismacolors and OMS), and a piece of hardware finish him up!!

Thanks for dropping by!

Happy Winter!

I know it just officially became fall, but since winter doesn't start until 4 days before Christmas, I need to keep going with my Christmas cards!! :)  Here Edwin's snowman is inked in grey and colored with Prismacolors and OMS.  The designer paper and silver brads are retired SU and the saying is from The Angel Company, with a little paper piercing to set it off.

So how are you coming on your Christmas preparations?  I'm eagerly awaiting my cross-stitch finishing class by mail, so I can make up a few goodies to put in my present box, which is full to overflowing right now, but still needs SO much more!!  I was thrilled that I found a couple of gorgeous Lang Guest Books on clearance for my more elegant sisters.  Yay!  (I hope they don't read my blog...)

Have a wonderful day!

"Charm"-ing Challenge

This cute little girl is from a company called Hanglar & Stanglar.  I won a number of these sweet images in a blog candy giveaway a while back, and she was perfect for the Cute Card Thursday theme of "food".  What better food than a picnic?  And, I must say that coffee looks good right now! :)  I colored the image with my SU markers again, and added some Prismacolors on her blanket.  The sentiment is from a retired Limited Edition set from The Angel Company that I'd been looking for for awhile.  I love the handwriting!!  The little charm and the brads came in a goody box from my Virtual Convention Virtual Roommate this summer, and the flowers and dp were from friends, too!! :)  Thanks everyone, I couldn't have done it without you!! LOL!!

Today is menu and shopping list day, plus I have a few orders to pack for GraceWorks and I need to pick up around the house.  I think I'll go make my coffee and get started.

Blessings~

Pink, Blue and Green

I still love Tilda.  How can anyone not think that face is sweet??  Here she is as Farmer Tilda, ready to go work in the barn... overalls and all.  I colored her with my Stampin Up markers - being sure to use pink, blue and green so I could post her for the Tilda and Friends ATC challenge for last week.  I think I'm getting in right under the wire. :)

The weather is so pretty here.  The trees are starting to change and it's still warm, but there's a nice fallish breeze.  I have fresh orchard apples to snack on - "is there any felicitation in the world superior to this??"  (Yes, I've been watching Sense & Sensibility again!!)

Have a splendid day!

Hello!!

Here's a quick card done with the Elzybells layout for the week (Challenge #3).  Isn't she sweet?  I just love this pastel paper from Debbie Mumm.  I'm going to send her to my Aunt who's taking care of my uncle with Alzheimer's.  Don't forget Cammie's challenge that I talked about here!!  I actually pulled out my Stampin' Up markers to color a number of the cards I made this weekend.  I needed something quick and easy and they did turn out cute!! :)  Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great day!!

Birthday Bear

It was so fun to get to sit down and stamp yesterday and today!  I caught up on a few challenges and made enough cards to post one a day for the next week.  Yay!! :)  This card is for the PaperTake Sketch Challenge from last Monday.  I used a sweet Penny Black bear that was in my image stash, colored him with Prismacolors and OMS and then mounted him on an assortment of DP from my K&Co McKenna and Bailey Mat Pads.  I love the mat pads.  They are only 4 x 6, but they aren't very expensive and you can make a *lot* of cards with them.

The hardware is retired SU, and something I hardly ever use, so it was surprised to find itself on a card!! :)  Hope this week finds you able to get a little crafting in - and hopefully sending some cards as well.  Cammie has a challenge on her blog to send a card to a caregiver for someone with Alzheimers Disease.  What a good reminder!  My uncle has Alzheimers and it's been ages since I wrote her a note... maybe last Christmas??  To super encourage us, she's also offering a chance at some unbelievable blog candy.  I hardly ever, ever, ever win blog candy, but I *do* want to write my aunt, so that will be my reward.  I think I'll even use this card.  (edited to add... OOPS!!  Wrong card.  I'm sending her the Elzybells one I made, but it won't be up for a day or two. Silly Me!!)

Just for Fun

I decided to do the Verve Visual challenge over at Poetic Artistry using one 6x6 sheet of designer paper to make 4 cards.  Very fun!  These two cards were my favorites.

I actually made one more card that wasn't for the challenge that I just loved, but I've been trying to get it uploaded since last night and it just *won't*!!! Grrrrr.   I'm having all sorts of computer issues today.  The little irritations should have prompted me to display patience and good humor, but I'm afraid I did manage to feel a little annoyed.  Shame on me!!

On a wonderful note, I found out that I can take a cross-stitch finishing class by mail that I've been wishing for for almost 2 years.  I used the rest of my birthday money (and then some) and signed up for the class.  I'm SO excited!!  The class is from The Silver Needle, the cross stitch store the girls and I visited last summer in Tulsa, OK, and you learn a number of ways to finish small to medium cross stitch projects to make them into gifts.   Fun, fun, fun!!!

TTFN!!

Yay! A Challenge!

I'm so thrilled that I was able to stamp today, even if it was just for a few minutes!  I colored Tilda with her birthday cake, added some flowers to her dress and matted her on some cardstock from my Debbie Mum Baby Girl mat pack for my ATC for Tilda and Friends, so I can be in on the wonderful drawing for Cross Stitch Tilda, who I think is just adorable!!

Although the ATC challenge this week was an open theme, they encouraged us to show different ways to use our ATC's.  I made mine into a birthday card for a friend that has a birthday in a week or so.  Perfect way to "kill two birds with one stone"!! :)  I like the card, even though it's very simple.  When I haven't stamped for awhile its better if I don't try to be too creative... things tend to look... ummm... interesting!! :)

Thanks for stopping by!!
