January Sneak Peeks!

Can you believe that it is going to be 2011 in just a few days???  Wow!  And, of course, I have some new stamps to show you, that will be released on January 1st.  Yay!!

The Loving Critters set is perfect for Valentine's Day. (Yes!  It's coming sooner than you think!)  I made the first card for my DH, so it uses the browns and blues and I kept it very clean and simple.

This next project is a little matchbook notepad that I wanted to decorate and put in my purse.  I colored the penguin's iceberg as a stump so it would be good for more than one season.

Along with the sets, there are some single stamps being release as well.  I used the new John 14:1 stamp for this card and kept the colors soft and muted to make it suitable for a more somber occasion.  The little sprig stamped in the background is from the Heartfelt Sentiments set.

There are so many samples to see today!  I hope you'll stop by Lori's blog to see the full sheets and then visit  my design team sisters for more inspiration!

Oh!  And don't forget the blog hop coming up on Saturday, January 1st!  You *definitely* won't want to miss it!!

See you tomorrow for more previews!

A Light to my Path

Stamp TV has some fun challenges on right now that I've been playing along with... at least until today, when I twisted my back when I was vacuuming and now I can't get up out of the chair.  :-(  Hopefully it will snap back in soon!!  I have stamping to do!! LOL!

This challenge was to use distressed newsprint on your card.  I found an advertisement that mimicked the stamped lighthouse and thought it came together well.

Have a blessed day!

Through a Window

Here's today's faux window card for Gina K's Countdown.  It's a fun technique that I don't remember doing before.  My embossing powder and brayer have been getting a workout lately!

Split Negative Technique

Today's card is for one of Gina K's Countdown Challenges over at Stamp TV.  It uses a technique called "split negative" which is honestly something that I wouldn't have tried if I hadn't been challenged to do it!  Embossing powder is not my friend, so I don't have that much of it around... hence the brown and gold colorway... :-)  Can't wait to see what tomorrow's challenge will be!

Blessings!

Bring out that Brayer!

Hello friends!

Welcome to my stop on The Angel Company brayer blog hop! I'm embarrassed to say how long it's been since I used my brayer! It was happy to see the light of day once again. :-) I stamped the pretty LE Blooms in Versamark on white paper and embossed them with clear embossing powder. Then I inked up my brayer and covered the cardstock with color. When I was all done, I wiped off the flowers with a soft cloth to make the white 'pop'. I then stamped another bloom and colored it with copics, and stamped a couple of leaves on some designer paper and shaded them with copics as well. The sentiment is from one of the new hostess sets in the Fall Supplement - A Thousand Thanks. Isn't it just gor-juss????

Here's my card in full...

Now off you go! Time to make an Angel Company card yourself and join us on the hop!! You don't have to be a demonstrator... I'm not! Or at least go visit some more blogs and get inspired!!! :-)

Blessings!

Have a Gouda Day!

It's digi day over at Clear Dollar Stamps!

My card uses the new Gouda Day digi set.  I've combined a few of the images to make a little scene with the mice and the cheese.  This is such a fun set.  The mice are *so* cute!  I used some dp that has been in my stash forever.  I think it was from SU about 5 years ago!!  LOL!  I think I need to stop hoarding paper...

Be sure to visit the other designers! There are lots of sets to see!!

Blessings!  Tricia

Sick as a Duck

I just love this digi and sentiment, don't you??  It makes me laugh.  And isn't laughter the "best medicine"?  It seems like Christmas time is when I would always get sick as a child, and my poor niece is taking after me.  I hope this card will cheer her up!  I love the bright colors - which, by the way, are my take on the burgundy and gold challenge colors at Crafting with Deedee's Digis for the week. The sketch is from Gina K.

All Done!

Oh, I can't tell you how happy I am that this is finished and hanging in its place on the stocking shelf!!!!!!! (You can click on either picture and they should show up larger.) Now I can start to kit up my 15 projects for the January cross stitch challenge! And no, none of them are this involved!!!

Here's the line up of the stockings that I've done over the past 9 years...
I'll be starting a new cross-stitch only blog soon. With the January challenge coming up I don't want to overwhelm all of my faithful stamping followers! I'll let you know the link when it's up and running. Speaking of stamping, I'll have a post for the TAC blog hop up as soon as it's open!

Sweet Treat!

Hello friends! Happy Wednesday! Are you getting ready for Christmas?? This week's challenge over at Crafting with Deedee's Digis was to make a card or gift for someone that wouldn't usually be on our Christmas list. It was also a perfect reminder for me to get together a little gift for my mail lady. She really brightens our day! :-)

I used this week's $1 Digi - Whole Latte Love - for my card and combined it with a sentiment from the Halloween set - Sweetest Treat. I colored it with copics... and, of course, made it a Peppermint Mocha Latte, cuz those are YUMMY. :-) The little box of AMAZING chocolates are from Target's Dollar spot. You really should try them. They are fantastic.

I'll leave you with a clear shot of my card... I hope you have a chance to join in the challenge! If you use one of Deedee's Digis, you get the $1 Digi for free!!

Cocoa's Christmas

Have you seen the new Cocoa challenge blog?? It gives me a great reason to pull out my Cocoa stamps and digis and color him up. You *know* that I just love him to pieces! This week's challenge is to make a Cocoa Christmas card, so I printed out Cocoa's Mittens and (tried) to follow the Card Patterns sketch. I added some texture to the gloves after I colored them by putting a little Copic colorless blender on my stamp cleaning rag and then touching to the area that I'd colored. I just love the look it gives!

Thanks for stopping by today!

A Quiet Afternoon

Just a quiet afternoon here. I'm fighting with a headache, and feeling kind of sklonklish - as Shirley Temple would say - so I've been visiting some cross stitch blogs and found this cross stitch giveaway. Wouldn't it be fun to win this for Christmas??

Have a lovely day!

CIC Challenge

Morning friends! Here's my card for today's Clearly Inspired Challenge using three shades of blue. I pulled out my very favorite set "Genuine Love" and combined it with the newer Scripture set. Doesn't it look elegant?? The dp is from Clear Dollar's Capella Paper Kit. So pretty! I hope you'll take time to play along with the challenge this month. We'd love to see what you come up with!!

Thanks Snow Much

I made a card today for the sketch challenge over at Stamp TV using the new Snow Much Fun set that I won. It's *such* a cute set! Especially the fat little snowmen like the one I used on this card. And they're easy to color, too, which is always a plus!!

Have you been watching the new sketch and color spotlight challenge videos? I really like them. No talking, just watching Gina make a card from start to finish. *Love* them!!

Have a happy day!

Finally, A Card!

Hello friends!

I'm back! And happy to be this month's Guest Designer for Deedee's Digis!! My card for today uses the adorable Let It Snow digi that I printed on Georgia Pacific 110# cardstock and colored with Copics, using the colors from this week's Stamp TV color challenge. The layout is always hard for me, so I followed the CardPatterns sketch from last week.

Do you struggle with using gems on your cards like I do?? The snowman's buttons are *perfect* for them! It adds just a little more sparkle, plus it works perfectly for the Tuesday Throwdown Embellish It challenge. :-) Using a stardust pen or some glitter on the snow and the tree will help make your creation shine as well.

Blessings!

So Close!

Hi friends! Sorry to be missing in action for so long, but with Thanksgiving and company and working on this stocking, I just haven't had a minute to spare! Today is Tara's bday, and here's what she's getting... It's *so* close - but I still need to do all the backstitching on the bottom half, finish the silver across the top, and add in the french knots. When I finish this, I'm going to work on a project that I can finish in a night or two that has *no* back stitching. ;-) I can't say that it doesn't add to it, though! It really seems to just light up with each stitch!!

Thanks for stopping by! I plan to have a card to show you by tomorrow at the latest. :-)

Verve Project Parade Trio

It's Verve Project Parade time, and the challenge is to make a "trio". My trio includes a little notebook that I found at our grocery store that I decorated with a Plain Jane, a decorated clothespin and a cute paperclip. I really should package it all up and give it away as a Christmas gift, but I'm tempted to just keep them! :-) I love having a decorated notebook in my purse and the clothespin and paperclips are so fun to use to clip bags shut or papers together.

Have a lovely weekend!

Quick Tags

I have a hard time making "gorgeous" tags for Christmas gifts, when I know they will just be thrown away. On the other hand, I thoroughly enjoyed making these quick and easy tags with the free stamp I got with my last Angel Company order. Isn't the little Cuddly Penguin precious?? I took my color inspiration from my wrapping paper for this Christmas, and it just happened to have some penguins on it, and the colors just happened to be the color challenge colors over at Stamp TV this week. :-)

Have a thankful day!!

Stocking Update!

Well, there is light at the end of my tunnel! I have just a couple more weeks before I need to have this done, but I'm almost there! I did leave all the backstitching for the end, so that will add a little more time, but thankfully there's not a lot of it! :-)

When I'm done with this, I hope to whip up a few ornaments before Christmas. I've found that I can stitch quickly when I'm listening to a Librivox Audiobook, though, so I should be able to get them done. THEN... I have a list of things to stitch for next year. Two Shepherd's Bush fobs, CCN's Pumpkin Cottage, something for Love Quilts, more ornaments... I can't wait! I'd also like to participate in a few more exchanges next year. I only did a couple this year, but they were so much fun! :-)

Happy Stitching!

A fun sketch

OWH Winner!

Thank you all so much for your sweet comments! I've drawn a winner from those of you who entered cards and left comments with the word LUCY and the winner is...

I don't see a blog or an email, so I hope she checks back! If I don't hear from her in 48 hours I'll be drawing another winner.

Warmest Wishes

Morning, ladies! :-)

I almost forgot to post today! I have been having so much fun reading all the comments from the OWH hop this weekend and seeing the beautiful cards, that I didn't realize what day it was! :-) But I'm on top of things now (LOL!)! And I have such a fun card to show you this morning with a number of the images from the new Cup of Cocoa digi that's being released today at Clear Dollar Stamps! I got brave this month and decided to work with some of the pre-colored images, instead of coloring them myself. It was fun for a quick card, but I'll admit that I did miss coloring, so I'm thrilled that the set comes with both type of images... both pre-colored and ones you can color yourself.

For my card today, I used both of the colored mugs that come in the file, and, by using the .png files, simply dragged them over one another in my word processing program to make them look layered. Then I dragged the "Warmest Wishes" sentiment over the stacked cups. Isn't it a fun look? And so quick, too! I added a strip of kraft cardstock that I'd stamped in white ink with a little circle from Circle Somethings, and added some stitching, sponging, and a few scallops here and there to finish it off.

There are a number of sweet digi sets coming out today. I hope you'll take a hop over to Lori's blog to see them all!

Here's the details...
CDS Set Used: Cup of Cocoa Digi (color), Circle Somethings (for dots)
Ink: White (for dots), Memento Desert Sand (for sponging)
Paper: Kraft, White, Strawberry Jam, Kaisercraft DP
Tools & Accessories: Sewing Machine, Hole Punch, Ribbon, border punch, sponge

Lucy's Valentine

Hello! And welcome to my stop on the Operation Write Home Be My Valentine Blog Hop! If you've come to my blog from Shelley's, you are on the right track. Be sure to read to the end of the post for a link to your next stop, some candy, and a challenge! If you get lost during the hop, just pop back to Stars and Stamps for the complete list.

My card today features Lucy from The Angel Company, all watercolored with Tombow markers and layered with some of TAC's new FREE downloadable patterned paper. Oh my! I couldn't believe it! Look at those gorgeous colors!!! :-) (And no, I'm not a TAC demo!!) The sketch is from the Stars and Stamps sketch challenge for the week. It also is a "thinking of you" card with ribbon... so I guess it fits the Midweek Throwdown challenge, too! :-)

Be sure to remember, if you're sending some cards to OWH during this holiday season, that the deadline for Christmas cards is passed. The heros wouldn't get them in time to send them home! The next looming deadline is January 7th - the last day for Valentine's cards. Interested in sending some in? Check out the Archway Cookie challenge here! Also, don't forget to vote for OWH in their Craft for a Cause competition at Joann's. You can vote daily and it would be such a blessing for OWH to win!!!

OK. I know that there are a bazillion blogs on the hop this weekend, so I'd like to offer a challenge and some candy up for grabs if you've read this far! :-) To be eligible for the candy, just mention the word LUCY in your comment. You may want to become a follower, too... to see if you've won! If you'd like five extra chances to win, make a Valentine with the colors pink, green and brown, and post it in your SCS gallery or on your blog. You can get an adorable FREE digi from my dd's blog ~ Splashing Joy, and the FREE digi paper from TAC, so you'll be all set!!! :-) (Those aren't necessary, of course, but everyone loves something for free!) And, by the way, it's no fair using a card that's already made or posted! :-) All right, off you go now to Tara's blog. Just don't forget to link your challenge card here before 11 pm CST on Sunday!

Blessings!

Cupful of Thanks

I made a quick card the other day with the Cup of Joy from Deedee's Digis and a sentiment from one of my new sets from The Angel Company, so I could enter Deedee's Happy Monday Challenge for a card of thanks. The dp is from my stash, and I colored with, of all things, my regular old Stampin Up markers.

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget the OWH blog hop in the morning!

Christmas with Lucy

Lucy the Mouse, that is! Welcome to my stop on The Angel Company Deck the Halls - Christmas Blog Hop! I've had this adorable Angel Company set by Mabelle RO sitting on my desk for a week now, just begging to be used, so I knew just which image I would color for my blog hop project! I stamped Lucy with Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto watercolor paper and watercolored her with Tombow Markers before cutting her out with an oval Nesties die.

Here's the outside of the card in a close up...
As for the inside... I'd seen a cute idea on Taylor VanBruggen's blog to make a pouch for some Starbucks VIA coffee singles, and thought that would be a perfect gift for a dear friend. The flavored coffee VIA packets, though, are a little bigger than the normal ones, and Taylor hadn't given any directions, so I had to just play around a little with my Scor-Pal and a scissors until VOILA...

I had made my very own little pouch for the inside of the card! I cut the entire card from a 12 x 12 sheet and it's basically a normal size card with a pocket that folds over on the bottom half. I am *not* a very good 3-d girl, so I was pleased that it turned out at all!!

Thanks so much for stopping by! And be sure to visit the Savvy Projects Blog for the whole list of hoppers. There are always such good ideas!!!

Birthday Blog Hop!

Edited to add winner!! Debby!! I've emailed you! Thanks so much for stopping by, everyone!!

Hello friends! Welcome to the Sweet 'n Sassy Birthday Blog Hop to celebrate their THIRD birthday!! If you've come from Monika's blog, you're on the right track, and if you've just dropped by and want to go "hopping" you can start here, or go back to the Sweet 'n Sassy Blog so you can start at the beginning. You won't want to miss a single stop, since we are all giving away Sweet 'n Sassy goodies!!

I wasn't sure which set I wanted to use for today's card, until I paged through my digi file and saw Fenton. I just love this little guy! Fenton is for all of us forgetful types. The inside of the card has the sentiment... "Hope your birthday was toad-ally awesome!". I colored Fenton with Copics and mimicked the lines on the dp by drawing in some of my own on his tummy with an SU marker. DP is Debbie Mumm and PTI.

Thanks so much for stopping by! If you care to leave a comment I'll be drawing one winner on Thursday morning to receive the Fenton Frogot digi. Be sure I know how to contact you if you win! :-)

OK... your next stop on the hop is the amazing Tami Mayberry! Oh, and I've attached the whole list in case you would like a road map!! :-)

Happy Penguin

I stamped for fun last night! :-) I used the adorable little penguin gift with purchase stamp from The Angel Company and the sentiment from the Lucy set. There's lots of glitter and stitching and I used my Snowflake nesties and SU snowflake punch. I think I might still add some polkadots in versamark on the pink. I just feel like it needs something...

Clearly Inspired Challenge Today!

Hi ladies! It's time for another Clearly Inspired Challenge and today our theme is all about food. Speaking of food, I have brownies waiting for me that just came out of the oven, so I'm going to make this quick... :-)

I used the single Birthday Cupcake Tag for my card and some K&Co background paper that I recycled from another card. I have *so* many birthdays in November, so I plan on sending this one out shortly.

Be sure to swing by the Clearly IStamp blog for some more inspiration, and maybe even a digi to help you play along!

Stitching Update & Pay It Forward!

Saturday was my niece's wedding, so I took some time off of stitching on The Stocking (notice the capital letters... I think it now has it's own personality! LOL!) to stitch up this adorable little star ornament by JBW from the JCS Ornament magazine. I actually got about 1/2 done with it and realized that the measurements that I'd cut my material by were assuming you were doing it over 1. I'd been stitching over two and after getting two points of the star done I figured out that it would be too big for my fabric. Silly me! So I restarted over one and it turned out so pretty!

Here's their gift...

Here's my stocking progress for the last two weeks. I only have 29 more days to work on it!!!

And, finally, here is the Pay It Forward from Cath that I received last week. Isn't it fun?? I couldn't figure out who would be sending me something from overseas, but what a treat to find something stitched! So, now it's my turn! If you are interested in doing a Pay It Forward with me, let me know! I will send something handmade in the next year to you if you are one of the first three to respond. You in turn will post on your blog and "pay it forward" to three more people. You can let me know if you would prefer something stitched or quilted or some of my handmade cards. Just so you know, though, I doubt I'll get them out before the first of the year. It's busy, busy, busy around here just now! :-) Be sure to sign up soon!

A Wedding Card

Today is my niece's wedding day and I was working so hard to make her a gift (which I'll show in a day or two!) that I didn't have time to make a card until this morning. I used a sweet Limited Edition stamp set by The Angel Company and a sentiment from Flourishes. I watercolored the flower and leaves and added a line to frame the image with my Zig Millenium pen.

By the way, TAC has a Fall Blog Hop on today and there are lots of wonderful entries. You can find the list on the Savvy Projects Blog here.

The Light of Winter

What fun I have had with this Capella paper kit!! Today I used another new set from Clear Dollar called The Light of Winter. I started with a sketch I'd used on a card a month or so ago... and ended up with something entirely different. LOL! :-) This particular card features the billowing clouds velvet ribbon and rhinestones. *So* vintage-y and pretty!! I watercolored with my Tombow markers again. They give such an illusion of depth and shadows.

Here's another card with the candle from The Light of Winter along with the single sentiment Let God's Light Shine. And, of course, more paper and embellishments from my Capella Paper kit. I used my Copics for this card, and made the "candlelight" with pastels. All the details for both cards are down below.

Flavor of Fall Blog Hop

I was beyond blessed to be given this sweet set ("Thanking God" from The Angel Company), and I just couldn't wait to get it out and start coloring. Isn't it precious?? The little bird is dressed up for every season (You can see a card I made the other day with the winter birdie here!) and the font choices make my heart smile. :-) I chose the little autumn bird to use for this card, since TAC is having a Flavors of Fall blog hop today and tomorrow, and I wanted to join in. :-) I hope you'll have a chance to hop along and see some of the beautiful creations. I can't wait to see some of the other fall sets in action. It will enhance my wish list! LOL!!

Have a blessed day!

Get Well Critters

I have the sweetest set to share with you today! It's called Get Well Critters and it will be released by Clear Dollar Stamps on November 1st. When I saw this set in this month's lineup, I just knew I had to have it! It not only has the typical cold/flu kind of "get wells" - but this adorable mousey with it's band-aid can be used for a surgery, a long-term illness, a child's illness, and even broken bones. And the "feel better" saying is just perfect with it.

I was excited to be able to use the Capella Paper Kit that came out a month or so ago for my preview cards this month. I really stuck with the papers and embellishments that came with the kit for this card, with the exception of the thin brown ribbon through my button. I use lots of punches with the card, though! I pulled out my Scalloped Circle Punch, my Circle Punch (the smallest layer is a Nestie, though), my spiral notebook punch, and my word window punch. And I used one of my fall-to sketches to make my card come together quickly.

Here's another card with the ingredients from the Capella kit and the Get Well Critters set. This time I chose the adorable turtle from the set and pulled my colors from the green designer paper. I watercolored with my Clearly Coordinating Tombow markers and used some of the embellishments in the kit. Like a crocheted flower. Wow. SO pretty. I used a copic marker (YG91, I think) to tone down the brad a little before I attached it.

I would *highly* recommend one of the paper kits. It's so easy to put cards together when all of the matching is done for you! By the way, did you see the Wintertime Kisses kit?? I have that on my list next. I love it!

Here's a list of today's designers...

Lori, Laurie, Angela, Katie, Barb, Christi, Shell, Lisa, Nancy, Stacy

Feel Better
CDS Stamps: Get Well Critters
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Capella Paper Kit
Markers: Slate, Shale (Promarkers), YG63, BG10, E41, E55, T3, C1, E49
Tools & Accessories: Circle Nesties, Circle Super Jumbo Punch, Scalloped Circle Mega Punch, Sewing Machine, Button, Ribbon, Word Window punch, brads, Spiral Punch, Pop Dots, Adhesive Gun

Got Sniffles?
CDS Sets Used: Get Well Critters
Ink: Memento Black
Cardstock: Capella Paper Kit (CDS)
Tombow Markers Used: Toasted Almond, Hot Cocoa, Mud Pie, Spring Leaf, Ripe Olive, Pineapple Twist, Cream Soda, Grey

A Little Bit of Winter

I had so much fun making this card! I think I used supplies from every company that I like. :-) The image is from TAC, from a new set that I just adore! (Thanks, Karen!). The sentiment is from Sweet n' Sassy, the cardstock is from Paper Garden. The ribbon is from Clear Dollar and the cord and border punches are from Stampin Up. Isn't that fun?? :-) I colored my birdie with Copics, the mat is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, and the dp is from Cosmo Cricket. And, know what else is nice?? It doesn't have glitter and isn't too very bulky, so I can enter it in the OWH Anything Goes challenge and the colors are perfect for this week's Color Throwdown! :-)

This is one of my favorite quick layouts, in fact my card for the TAC blog hop on Saturday is based on it, too. Oh! Don't forget to stop by tomorrow and Friday for some Clear Dollar previews! I have some cute cards and some elegant cards to show you, made with the sets that will be released on November 1st!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Blessings!
