Final Day of Sneak Peeks!

I love to see what will be added to Clear Dollar's line of Value Verses each month. This passage from Psalm 37 is one of my favorites. Trust in the Lord... Delight in Him... Commit my way to Him. Those should be on each of our "to do" lists! Do you notice more of those micro brads in the corner? Have I told you how much I love them? You're going to be seeing a lot of them over the next little while!

The stamp of the month set that you can get free with a $50 order this month is called Terrific Trees. I know you'll love it! It has this wonderful tree image with opening to add flowers, lemons, apples, more leave or birds. And the font of the sayings is one of my favorites!!

I pulled out my prismacolors and oms for these cards. Have you tried prismacolors on kraft cardstock like the card below?? It gives a really rustic look. You should try it!

OK... be sure to visit all the other designers and get your list made. You can go shopping tomorrow!! :-)

March CDS Sneak Peeks - Day 3

The set Jesus Paid It All is a perfect reminder of the reason Christ came from Heaven to earth. He died for our sins - but then rose again! For the first card I embossed the cross image with clear embossing powder and then used another treasure - my pastels - to give the look of a sunset. Here's the entire card...

My second card is just a quick thank you note made with the flower and a sentiment in the set. I cut the flower so that it wasn't centered in the die on purpose, to balance the design a little more. My stash treasure on this card is a piece of old SU dp. It worked perfectly!

The next card is one of my favorites! It's from a set called Snail Mail...

Isn't he adorable?? I paper pieced his little mail bag and his shell and colored the rest of him with Copics. See my little micro brads? Clear Dollar sells them for $1.00 a bag and they are *so cool*!! I'm saving my pennies to buy more!!!!

And now we have Shoe Fly. LOL! Don't you just love his name? He looks like he's going on a hike! See more micro brads?? Stash treasure... some K&Co dp that I couldn't figure out a project for. TaDa!

AND... last set for today... the Pippin Mouse Family by Wendy Hall. I paper pieced the little cupcake wrapper and then colored the mouse and cupcake with copics. After I had my mouse all cut out, I used a hobby blade and cut - very carefully - around his hand, so he could hold the cupcake. The sentiment is from an older CDS set called Woodland Critters . I love that font and use that sentiment on a lot of my birthday cards!
The next card uses the Pippin Mouse set again, but this time I've paired it with a new release single sentiment stamp... "Swinging by..."

There you have it! I have one more day to share sneak peeks and then you can start shopping! Yay!!

Don't forget to visit the other gals' blogs for more inspiration!

Be a Square!

Hello friends! It's Saturday and I have a "beary" cute card to share! I made it for this week's Clearly Inspired Challenge over on the Clearly I Stamp blog to make a square card. The little bear and the word "Beary" are from the Clear Dollar Stamp set Chuggin' Along. The "happy birthday" sentiment is from another CDS set, Just Shellin'. I colored my bear with copics and cut him out with some circle nesties after I paper pieced his tummy. The dp is from my stash... some is Fancy Pants, but I'm not sure about the rest of it!

OK! So pull out your stamps (Clear Dollar Stamps if you have them, but if you don't, please play anyway!) and make a square card - any colors & any sketch, then link it to the Clearly Inspired Challenge and check back next week to see if you won!!

Hope to see you there!

Blessings!

Forget Winter! Think Spring!!

I tried. I really, really tried to come up with a "final farewell" to winter card for this month's Fourth Friday Challenge over at Paper Garden Projects. But, well, nothing says "farewell to winter" like a little hedgehog carrying flowers, right??? LOL!!

My little hedgie is from Critter Party, and the sentiment is from a clear Impression Obsession set called "Cupcake". I used some pretty Farm Fresh dp by October Afternoon, and just kept the card clean and simple. I really hope you'll join in on the challenge. Just make a card that says "Goodbye to Winter" - whether that means one last winter card or a spring card - and link it to Cathy's blog. We'll be drawing a name from all those who participate and the prize is wonderful!! Check it out over on Cathy's blog!!

Here's my card in full...

Don't forget to check out my other post today! See you tomorrow!!

March CDS Sneak Peeks - Day 2

Hello friends! I have three sets to show you today and they are all different styles. Isn't it fun?! The first set is Daisy by Wendy Hall. It features an adorable little girl and her toys... like these little friends - the bunny and bird. I colored them with prismacolors on textured white paper and then simply matted them on some bright colors of cardstock that coordinated with my scrap of dp. And I used eyelets! Another treasure from my stash. :-)

Then we have Daisy herself...

Here she is - sittin' pretty on some scraps of Basic Grey Wisteria dp. She's colored with Copics and trimmed out and applied to the card front with dimensionals. I love how she matches the paper!

Next up is the companion set to last month's lady gymnasts, simply called - Male Gymnasts. I chose to use a black and white color scheme and I just love how it turned out. I pulled out another treasure - my glossy paper and embossing powder - and simply put the ep over my image that I stamped in Memento Black and heated it. I didn't have to use a slower drying ink since I used the glossy paper. Somewhere along the way I think I put a little iridescent ice ep back in my clear ep container... so if you look really close I think Mr. Gymnast is sparkling. Maybe it's sweat?? ;-)

Last we have these two stamps from the $1/$2 section... Spot the Dog and I Woof You. I colored the image with prismacolors and oms on Ivory Natural cardstock. I like the "manly" feel to the card. Great for my dh or ds!

Don't forget - there is lots more to see at the other designers' blogs!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Inspired by Mish

Welcome to the Papertrey Blog Hop! Tonight my card is inspired by a Christmas card of Michelle Wooderson's which I found in the Papertrey gallery. Here it is...
Oh - too funny! My dd just came home from work and saw my card. "That's pretty, Mom," she said, "It looks like a Mish card!" SCORE!! :-)

For my card, I used the Vintage Picnic Basket set and the same basic layout, but changed the colors and basket fillers to reflect spring instead of winter. I just love Mish's style, don't you?!

I paper pieced my basket and then added some accents with an E31 copic marker. The tulips are colored with copics as well. DP is from the Polka Dots Basics and Bitty Dot Basics pads.

Thanks for dropping by! Happy Hopping!!

Turtles & Daisies & Sneak Peeks!

It's time for Clear Dollar Stamp sneak peeks again! Doesn't it seem like the months just fly by? We're already making cards for spring and summer. Ahhh.... makes me long for warm weather - or at least a robin or two!!

My first card is made with one of Shawne's adorable Patchpal characters... the Patchpal Turtle. Be sure to click on the picture so you can see his adorable little snail friend. Isn't it sweet? I colored the turtle with copics and added a little paper piecing to his shell and the body of the snail. Do you see what I mean about making me wish for sun? The image and those colors are just so bright and sunshiney!!

My second card uses a sweet set called Daisy Duo. Are there such things as purple daisies?? I guess there are now! :-) It was fun to pull out my frond punch and buttons to accent my little frame. Don't forget to use your treasures!!

There is *much* more to be seen, so be sure to visit the other designers' blogs. I'll see you back here tomorrow for Day 2!!

Marigold Magnolia

Aren't these fun colors that the Copic Colour Challenge chose for the week? They look warm and sunshine-y and inviting. I used Tilda with Hat for my card today, and followed this week's sketch over at Splitcoast. It's been *forever* since I've done a sketch challenge there!

I've got tons of things that I'd like to get done today before I leave for Bible Study tonight. More cards to make, some bookkeeping to catch up on, a cross-stitch to finish into a pinpillow, a little bit of cleaning, a flute lesson to give, etc., etc....

Hope to see you here tomorrow for the PaperTrey blog hop, if I can figure out a project! :-)

Blessings!

You're Giraffe-ic!

I've had this little digi giraffe and sentiment by Sweet & Sassy Stamps colored up for a while now, but just hadn't gotten around to putting him on a card, so I did some challenge jumping to get my creative juices flowing and here's what happened! :-)

I stopped off at The Sweet Stop Sketch challenge to find the sketch... which is there, although Mrs. Giraffe is kind of in the way... and added a few flowers for the twist. Then - with the colors and flowers and saying, I decided that it would be a perfect Mother's Day card for the Digital Tuesday challenge as well! It's nice as a Mom to be told that you are terrific - ummm.... I mean Giraffe-ic!! :-)

Here's the card in full...

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you'll be able to swing by again tomorrow!

Penny Black Birthday

I don't know what it is about these little Penny Black mice, but I just *adore* them! This little birthday celebration is from the Critter Party set. I colored it with copics and added a little bit of Stickles for sparkle. The flower is punched with the Boho Blossoms SU punch and the little frond punch is by Martha Stewart. I started out following the Sketch Saturday sketch and using the Penny Black Saturday challenge colors of green, yellow and pink. Well, I got the colors ok... but the sketch took on a life of its own! :-) Here's the finished project...

I have a full week of blogging planned if all goes well... a digi card tomorrow, one of my sweet Magnolias on Wednesday, the PaperTrey blog hop on Thursday, Friday is the Paper Garden Fourth Friday Challenge, and Saturday I'll post my Clearly Inspired Challenge card... although you can start on that challenge on Friday as well! Hope you'll be able to drop by!

Blessings!

Cross Stitch Weekend WrapUp

What fun I've had cross stitching over the past week or two! Here's my progress...

First, I finished two Shepherd's Bush projects. Hopefully these will be in pin pillow and ornament form by the end of this week!

Then, I started a little Lizzie Kate project - on aida, with DMC, cuz that's what I had around and I am on a spending freeze until March, at least, cuz of some car and computer repairs. I'm glad I have things around to keep me busy!! :-)

And finally, I worked on dd's stocking. I decided that the thing I didn't like about working on it was that I was stitching it 3/2 and, while I did the other two that I've made that way, it was just frustrating me now. I have some shoulder and wrist problems, so I can't use a hoop anymore and I just couldn't get the 3/2 to lay right. So - I switched to 2/2 and started using Vonna's method of not turning the needle and I really made some progress!! I worked up the side and started the top border. I feel like I'm really accomplishing something and I'm excited to keep at it now. :-)

In about three weeks I get to make a trip to the LNS that's about 1 1/2 hours away. I'm hoping to save up a little money by then to pick up some pretty fabric and a pattern or two. I would love to get a couple by Little House NeedleWorks. I love "Counting House" and the "Snowy Pines" ornament and a number of the others. I hear that there's a wonderful pattern in the latest issue of JCS, too. Maybe there will be a copy at the store when I go. Can't wait! But I need to see how much I can accomplish in the meantime. :-)

Thanks for stopping by! Happy stitching!

BellaRiffic Baby Card

The BellaRiffic Friday Challenge for this week was to use the colors light blue, apricot and pink. I thought they sounded like perfect baby colors, and I'm *always* short on baby cards, so I decided to color up this little "sweet pea". I paper pieced her little pea pod and colored the rest of her with copics. DP is a little bit more from my Hearts Bloom paper pack, and then there are bits and bobs of other papers and embellishments from my stash.

Can you believe that it is already the 18th of February? I'm working feverishly to finish up a few more sneak peek cards for the end of the month, so it may be a bit quiet this week... although I hope to have a cross-stitch finish or two to show you shortly!! :-)

Thanks for stopping by! You make my day!

Such a Good Reminder

This card is for a dear friend of ours that just had a hip replacement. Since it was going to a guy I tried to keep the frills to a minimum, but I couldn't resist a few scallops. :-) I just love the colors of this paper from TAC. The richness of the colors are perfect for a verse that is so rich in promise and application. I used some tiny brads to accent the front of the card. I'm so glad I got them in every color. I love them!! Oh - the stamp is from Clear Dollar Stamps... Phil 4:6-7

Thanks for stopping by and for all your sweet comments. You encourage me!!

Card Kit Tuesday!

Hello friends! Thanks for stopping by for this installment of Card Kit Tuesday! If this is your first visit, twice a month my dd and I make up a card kit and challenge each other to make a card with one of our older images. Today our kit was made with bits and pieces of a paper kit that I had gotten last spring from our SCS FlyBaby group. The dp is Imaginesce, except for the piece of pink dp at the back, which I added from my stash, the little Tilda is from a stack of images that I won, and the sentiment is from CDS' Everyday Jar-gon. Since we were just working with "bits & pieces" this week, all of the card kits are a little different. Here's the one that *you* can win, if you comment on this post and on K. Joy's Card Kit Tuesday post as well. We'll choose a random winner for the kit on Friday morning, so be sure we can contact you!

Blessings!

God is So Good

I was wishing for a little notebook to put in my purse, so I picked up a small spiral bound one the last time I was in the grocery store and altered it with some of my Hearts Bloom paper kit from Paper Garden Projects and this adorable little mousey from the Penny Black Critter Party set. The sentiment is from Clear Dollar Stamps Pretty Little Scriptures and reminds me that the Eternal God - my Lord Jesus Christ - is in control and can be trusted at all times... even when things look dark and I can't see the next step. I am so thankful for Him!

Here's the entire notebook...

Valentine's Day - Bella Style!

Happy (almost) Valentine's Day!! And welcome to the LOVE ME DO Blog Hop sponsored by Stamping Bella! If you've just happened upon my blog, you can CLICK HERE to start from the beginning at Bloggabella.

I *really* wanted to ink up this sweet Bluebell Bittybloom, and I figured if I colored her in pinks and added some hearts to her skirt she would make a wonderful Valentine's card for my Mom. :-) I stamped my Bittybloom on Very Vanilla cs and colored her with prismacolors and OMS. Well - mostly, at least! Her skin is done with copics, her cummerbund is paper pieced and the decorations on her hat and skirt are drawn in with a Regal Rose marker. :-)

I had so much fun making this card! I used new stamps, but I pulled out flowers and buttons and ribbon and dp that had just been sitting in my stash. It was like getting together with old friends!

Here is the whole card...
So...how about a prize? In addition to the fabulous eye candy, we have decided to hide a prize somewhere along the hop! One pre-selected blogger will draw a random winner from the comments on her post, and the winner will receive a $25 Gift Voucher to Stamping Bella!!! The fun part is...we're not telling you who it is! So as you hop, make sure you leave comments on every post so you have a chance to win!! We will announce the winner on Friday in the Splitcoast forum. MWAH!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Now it's time to hop on over to
Lori's blog!!

Clearly Inspired Bling!

Our Clearly Inspired Challenge for this week is to use *bling* on your cards. Hmmm.... I do like glitter, but I've had these rhinestones in my drawer for a long time and thought I'd like to find a way to use them. (A side note... I spent awhile this morning going through some dp and ribbon and such, pairing them up and making little piles of matching tidbits. I'm going to challenge myself to use them up. This card is from one of the piles!)

Back to the card! I used the flowers from Everyday Jar-Gon and a verse from Pretty Little Scriptures. I colored the image with copics, sponged some banana ink on my oval while it was still in the die and matted it on a scalloped oval. The ribbon was in my stash and has just a little bit of gold running through it.

Thanks for stopping by. I do hope you'll have time to join the challenge!!

Violet Cupcake Thanks

Here's another Scripture notecard - this time done with Ellen Lockhart's Violet Cupcake - one of my "go to" images. The sentiment is from a retired Stampin' Up set and the paper is Basic Grey Wisteria.

** This just in!**

If you were wanting to participate in the challenge over at Clearly Delightful so you can receive the free digi image, but didn't have a duck to make a card... Today is your lucky day! Laurie has a free digital cartoon duck for you to create with! You can find it here. I hope you'll play along!!

Another Finish

We had Christmas again this weekend with some friends. How fun! I highly recommend celebrating Christmas in February as well as December. It makes winter seem shorter. :-) Here's a little Lizzie Kate Flip It that I finally finished into an ornament for one of my friends. I used fabric from my stash and the recommended threads. I just adore the little sheep! I think he was supposed to have a charm on him, but I used a different thread count and the charm was too big. I'll save it for next time.

Thanks for stopping by!

Doesn't this little froggy make you think of spring?? A lovely thought, isn't it?? But I must say I'm looking forward to the snow that we're expecting!! :-) Yay! I'm trying to get a lot done today so I can stamp, and stamp and stamp and watch the new PBS Masterpiece Theater Emma online tomorrow. :-) What a fun day, if I can swing it! So, I'm off to get to work. Have a joyful day in the Lord!!

Love You All Ways...

Isn't this little ducky adorable?? Laurie asked if I would like to join the design team for the monthly challenge on her blog, and, of course, I said YES! This month the challenge is to make a card or project with a duck, and she's giving away this sweet little ducky digi if you play along! The free image is a single duck, so I pulled the file into Pages (like Word, except for Mac computers) and then duplicated it a few times, making each duck a little different in size. Of course I had to include an "ugly duckling" - although he's the one I'd really like to pick up and snuggle. He looks so soft and sweet. Especially in real life. He got kind of dark in the picture.

Anyway - hurry over to Clearly Delightful and check out the rest of the sweet samples with the free digi-duck. I hope you'll play along! I'll be stopping by to look at all of your work!

Blessings!

Card Kit Tuesday!

Hello everyone! This is a fun day at Simply Stamping, because I have a *new feature* for you!! K. Joy of Splashes of Joy, (who just happens to be my daughter!) and I, thought it would be fun to use some of our images that we just don't seem to get to very much. Card Kits are all the rage on SCS, so we decided that every other week one of us would send the other a card kit, including paper, cardstock, stamped images, and embellishments and we would each make a card. AND.... drum roll please... we will make a third card kit that we will give away to someone who stops by to comment on our blogs! Yay!!

Here's this week's kit...

Included in the kit...
  • One white card base
  • One 6x6 piece of green cardstock
  • Two 6x6 pieces of designer paper
  • Two Stamping Bella "Kilo Watt" stamped images
  • 12" of gold cord
  • Two yellow brads
  • Two blue brads
And here's my card...

I used a Labels 4 die to cut out my robot, added a heart to his tummy cuz I thought it would be cute, did a little ripping and sponging, and added the Happy Birthday sentiment. (We'll include one of those in the kit, but it will be on white...) Oh! And I used this week's Bella-riffic Friday sketch. :-)

What is so fun about card kits is to see how each of us used ours differently. And to realize that you really don't need a lot of supplies to make a cute card. So, would you like to win our extra kit?? Leave a comment here and on K's post so we know you stopped by, and we'll draw a winner on Friday, February 5th. You might even want to follow the blogs or put them in your Google Reader so you don't miss next Card Kit Tuesday which will be on February 16th. See you then!!
