A Wedding Card

Today is my niece's wedding day and I was working so hard to make her a gift (which I'll show in a day or two!) that I didn't have time to make a card until this morning. I used a sweet Limited Edition stamp set by The Angel Company and a sentiment from Flourishes. I watercolored the flower and leaves and added a line to frame the image with my Zig Millenium pen.

By the way, TAC has a Fall Blog Hop on today and there are lots of wonderful entries. You can find the list on the Savvy Projects Blog here.

The Light of Winter

What fun I have had with this Capella paper kit!! Today I used another new set from Clear Dollar called The Light of Winter. I started with a sketch I'd used on a card a month or so ago... and ended up with something entirely different. LOL! :-) This particular card features the billowing clouds velvet ribbon and rhinestones. *So* vintage-y and pretty!! I watercolored with my Tombow markers again. They give such an illusion of depth and shadows.

Here's another card with the candle from The Light of Winter along with the single sentiment Let God's Light Shine. And, of course, more paper and embellishments from my Capella Paper kit. I used my Copics for this card, and made the "candlelight" with pastels. All the details for both cards are down below.

Be sure to visit the other designers' blogs today! There are more samples and sets to be seen!

Flavor of Fall Blog Hop

I was beyond blessed to be given this sweet set ("Thanking God" from The Angel Company), and I just couldn't wait to get it out and start coloring. Isn't it precious?? The little bird is dressed up for every season (You can see a card I made the other day with the winter birdie here!) and the font choices make my heart smile. :-) I chose the little autumn bird to use for this card, since TAC is having a Flavors of Fall blog hop today and tomorrow, and I wanted to join in. :-) I hope you'll have a chance to hop along and see some of the beautiful creations. I can't wait to see some of the other fall sets in action. It will enhance my wish list! LOL!!

Have a blessed day!

Get Well Critters

I have the sweetest set to share with you today! It's called Get Well Critters and it will be released by Clear Dollar Stamps on November 1st. When I saw this set in this month's lineup, I just knew I had to have it! It not only has the typical cold/flu kind of "get wells" - but this adorable mousey with it's band-aid can be used for a surgery, a long-term illness, a child's illness, and even broken bones. And the "feel better" saying is just perfect with it.

I was excited to be able to use the Capella Paper Kit that came out a month or so ago for my preview cards this month. I really stuck with the papers and embellishments that came with the kit for this card, with the exception of the thin brown ribbon through my button. I use lots of punches with the card, though! I pulled out my Scalloped Circle Punch, my Circle Punch (the smallest layer is a Nestie, though), my spiral notebook punch, and my word window punch. And I used one of my fall-to sketches to make my card come together quickly.

Here's another card with the ingredients from the Capella kit and the Get Well Critters set. This time I chose the adorable turtle from the set and pulled my colors from the green designer paper. I watercolored with my Clearly Coordinating Tombow markers and used some of the embellishments in the kit. Like a crocheted flower. Wow. SO pretty. I used a copic marker (YG91, I think) to tone down the brad a little before I attached it.

I would *highly* recommend one of the paper kits. It's so easy to put cards together when all of the matching is done for you! By the way, did you see the Wintertime Kisses kit?? I have that on my list next. I love it!

Here's a list of today's designers...

Lori, Laurie, Angela, Katie, Barb, Christi, Shell, Lisa, Nancy, Stacy

A Little Bit of Winter

I had so much fun making this card! I think I used supplies from every company that I like. :-) The image is from TAC, from a new set that I just adore! (Thanks, Karen!). The sentiment is from Sweet n' Sassy, the cardstock is from Paper Garden. The ribbon is from Clear Dollar and the cord and border punches are from Stampin Up. Isn't that fun?? :-) I colored my birdie with Copics, the mat is embossed with a Cuttlebug folder, and the dp is from Cosmo Cricket. And, know what else is nice?? It doesn't have glitter and isn't too very bulky, so I can enter it in the OWH Anything Goes challenge and the colors are perfect for this week's Color Throwdown! :-)

This is one of my favorite quick layouts, in fact my card for the TAC blog hop on Saturday is based on it, too. Oh! Don't forget to stop by tomorrow and Friday for some Clear Dollar previews! I have some cute cards and some elegant cards to show you, made with the sets that will be released on November 1st!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Blessings!

A Flat Card

I don't make very many flat cards any more. Usually they have buttons, or ribbon, or pearls, or brads, but in the last two days I've made two cards that are embellishment-less! :-) This card is for the "leaf" challenge at Deedee's digis and uses her "Leave me Smiling" digi set. The sentiment is from my new set from The Angel Company called "Thanking God". BTW, if anyone is interested in placing an Angel Company order, let me know! In November everything hostess wise is doubled, so if we went together and each placed a $50 order, we could each get a hostess set and 3 gift with purchase stamps!! :-) Be sure to let me know right away if you're interested. My email is in my profile!

See you soon!

Joy Cometh in the Morning

I made a quick card this afternoon with an image from DeeDee's Digis that I had printed out. Well, it was supposed to be a quick card, but I was following the sketch from Card Patterns and then I had to change something, and then I had to cover up something that I'd done, and then ... well, you get the idea. :-) So, this isn't quite like the sketch, but it's close! And it follows the Crafting with DeeDee's digis color challenge, too.

See you next week!

Blessings!

More Fun...

Mabelle RO treated the members of CDAC to an adorable free digi of this little girl with a pumpkin today, so I took a few minutes to type out a Scripture sentiment and put together a card using the sketch from Friday Sketchers. There are lots of sweet cards being shown over in Mabelle's group at CDAC. We'd love for you to join us!

Mabelle RO

Looking for some new cute digis?? Mabelle RO (who has a rubber stamp line through The Angel Company) has a little Etsy shop called Whimsy & Stars - with adorable images. :-) I watercolored the little Acorn Basket girl and made my own sentiment (Phil 1:3, I believe!) on the computer. The paper is from Stampin Up... years and years ago. How fun to get to use up some of my older stash!!

Stocking Update!

Another week's worth of progress on the stocking! :-) I'm so pleased!! I do get bored easily, though, so I spent yesterday going through some of my stashed projects and ornament magazines and made a list of things that I would like to make next year. I have quite the list, I tell you! One of the things on top of the list is Country Cottage Needleworks Pumpkin Cottage. It's my 'I can start this when I finish the stocking' piece and since I just love the pattern, it is a good incentive to keep working!! :-)

Thanks for stopping by today!

Pumpkin Thoughts

Click on the picture to enlarge!

I saw The Angel Company's fall supplement online the other day, and WOW!, I just love some of the stamps! They are cute and classy and have Scripture verses in the sets. Just perfect for the majority of the stamping I do! I let my Angel status go to inactive when we moved from up north, so I need to find a TAC demo to send me a catalog and a supplement so I can place an order!
Have a blessed day!

Stitched Scripture

Deedee's Happy Monday challenge for this week was to make a card with Scripture and embellished with your favorite embellishment. Can you find mine? That's right! Stitching! Hardly a card goes through my hands now that isn't stitched. In fact, I think I'm running out of thread in the machine right now! :-)

I was pleased at how my pieced circle came out... especially since I didn't plan for it to line up like that. It's a fun look, though, and I like it!

Have a great weekend! I hope to post my stitching update tomorrow after some late night stitching time tonight. I'm almost to this week's goal. Yay!!

What a Pane

Hello all! Today is a new digital release day over at Clear Dollar Stamps! I have a fun set to show you today. It's called "What a Pane" and has four cute images along with 4 sentiments. It's perfect for birthday cards, friendship cards and autumn cards. I'm sure you'll love it!

I colored my image with light copics and then shaded with prismacolor pencils and oms. I tried to darken the colors a little with my photo editing program, but then my rust button turned bright red, so I decided to leave it. :-)

Be sure to stop by Lori's blog to see all of the sets being released today!!

Blessings!

Stocking Progress!!

Hello stitching friends! Here's my progress on the stocking for this week. It's fun seeing the pictures, because I notice things that I don't really see when I'm working on it. Things like the smoke coming from the chimney. I still have some outlining that I need to do on this section, so I think my goal for next week will be the next two rows of 10 and the outlining. We'll see how I do!! :-)

I'm looking forward to stopping by a Needlework Shop this week. :-) Yay! I just love seeing all the new patterns in person. I'm thinking I might pick up CCN Pumpkin Cottage if she has it in stock. We'll see what happens when I actually get there though!!

Thanks for stopping by! Happy stitching!!

Verve World Cardmaking Challenge

Hello, friends! I had such fun yesterday! I was able to sneak away from the puppy for a couple of hours and put together 5 - count them! - FIVE - cards for the Verve release challenges! I *so* enjoyed getting my Verve stamps inky again!!

So here they are... the top card is my second favorite and uses Sketch #1, and two sets - Beautiful You and a Plain Jane.

Here's a CAS birthday card using Circular Sayings and Sketch #2.

This little pumpkin bear is my absolute favorite of the five. I used the Hello Pumpkin set and the Circular Sayings set for this one and the sketch is Sketch # 3.

Sketch #4, using Floral Symphony.

And my least favorite - sketch #5 - using another Plain Jane. I guess not liking one out of five isn't bad! ;-)

Now I'm back to cross stitch! I can't wait to show you my progress this week. I just might reach my goal of getting this done by the end of November! Yay!

Blessings!

Bear-y Merry Christmas!

There's a fun sketch over on Crafting with DeeDee's Digis that I decided to play along with today. I had this dp on my desk that has been retired for years, but I just love the colors, so I used the colorway from the opposite side to watercolor my image (from Deedee's digis!). I'm still working feverishly on dd's stocking, so that's it for right now!

Cross Stitch Update!

I am so pleased with my progress this week on my dd's stocking!! Yay!! I haven't had much time to work on the LHN Patience thread pack, but it will get finished sooner or later. :-)

And my dd #2 finished LHN's Winter Whites this week. Isn't it beautiful! I can't wait for Christmas when it becomes mine. :-)

We're off the computer on Sundays, so I hope to get some stitching done after church. That will be a nice way to rest.

Thanks for stopping by! I'll see you next week!

Blessings!

For Unto You...

I've had this "Away in the Manger" image from Deedee's Digis for awhile now and hadn't made a card with it yet, but it was the perfect one for the Taylored Expressions sketch for this week. I don't round my corners that often, but it seemed to add perfect softness for this card. Even the colors were soft and sweet. I was even able to pull out my Spellbinders Create a Flake One dies and my SU snowflake punch... and I realized that I'm out of pearls!!

Other than the TE sketch challenge, I made this for the Creative Inspirations Challenge Operation Write Home challenge at MelJen's to make a monochromatic card. I have a whole box of cards ready to go to Operation Write Home... I just need to get some envelopes, and I haven't set aside the $$ to do it yet. If you're not familiar with OWH, be sure to check out the post at MelJens. It's a great way to support your troops!!

Well, I'm off to pick up my ds from work. Have a happy Saturday!

Blessings,

Tricia

Anyone There???

I have a fun card to share with you today! Did you know that my daughter, Katlyn, has a small shop filled with digital images?? This is a sneak peek of one of her newest sets called "Kolar's Pumpkin". Isn't this a riot? Anyone with a dog knows how curious they can be, and I can see Kolar (who is our dog in real life...) doing this. Then he would probably get his head stuck... LOL!

I made today's card with a few challenges in mind...

SCS Free for All Challenge to have a "hole" in your card... the sentiment is adhered in the "hole"...
Paper Pretties Challenge to use an animal...
Tuesday Throwdown to use punches (I used a border punch and circle and scalloped circle punches)
and
Stampin' for the Weekend with the theme of Autumn!

Thanks for looking!

CIC Color Challenge!!

Yay! It's a color challenge this week on the Clearly I Stamp blog!! :-) I've missed our color challenges! I pulled out an older set, "Charlie Harvest Time" to watercolor, and I used the Papertake Weekly sketch for this week. Have you had a chance to play with the cardstock, ink, ribbon, Tombow markers and Copics in Clear Dollar's Clearly Coordinating Collection? I hope so! I just love the colors! I just got one of the CDS Paper Kits, too. I can't wait to break into it!

So, for this card, I used CDS' Grape Jelly and Tangelo Smoothie cardstock, some (older than the hills) dp from SU, CDS Grape Jelly ribbon, and some Tombows for watercoloring... Grape Jelly, Tangelo Smoothie, Mud Pie, Hot Cocoa, Pineapple Twist, Strawberry Jam, Ripe Olive, and Wild Huckleberry. If you haven't watercolored with Tombows yet, you *have to* try it. It's so much fun! :-)

OK, that's all for me today! Go check out all the fun samples on the Clearly I Stamp Blog and then be sure to link us up to show us your creation!

Blessings!
