As a side note...  I'll be stepping away from doing previews for a few months to spend some extra time concentrating on GraceWorks, so be sure to mark Lori's blog so you don't miss next month's release!!  I'll still be stamping,  I'll just be free to show the cards as I make them, rather than hoarding them for the end of the month.  LOL!!  ☺  I hope you'll stay around!

March Sneak Peeks Start Today!

Clear Dollar Stamps is coming out with some lovely sets this month!  My first card uses a beautiful set called Cross Messages, that has a coordinating set of dies and an "Additions" set as well.

I used one of my favorite sets this month - "Scriptures of Peace" - to make this card.  I found the Basic Grey paper at my LSS' "Going out of Business" sale and the colors just radiated the calm, happy peace that we can have when our mind is focused on trusting in Christ.  I pray that you have that confidence in Him!

CDS Set Used: Scriptures of Peace
Ink: Memento Black, Pretty in Pink, Apricot Appeal
CS: Light Orange, White, Pink CS; Basic Grey & KI DP
Accessories & Tools: Buttons, DMC Floss, Spellbinder Circle Die, Sewing Machine

Spring Chick

Mabelle just put up some adorable new spring digis in her Whimsy and Stars shop and I *had* to have the sweet little chick.  Isn't she just precious??  I love her hat!!  Be sure you look at the dancing chick, too!  So sweet.  Sigh!

I followed Heather's Monday sketch for the layout and used a sentiment from the Angel Company.  The image is colored with copics and I used prismacolors for the grass.  I think this will be perfect for the Creative Cottage Challenge for lots of flowers, too

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Blessings,

Tricia

Another Fun Announcement!

I was so surprised to have Clara the Krafty Chick show up in my inbox this morning, to tell me that I was chosen as a Krafty Chick for THIS CARD in last week's "That Krafty Thursday" Challenge over on Jeanie's blog.  Have you seen her work???  It's AMAZING.  I love happy mail in the morning! Thanks Jeanie!

Faith Flowers

I just love the digi images by Mabelle RO!  Here's "Faith Flowers" colored up to make a sweet note card.  (Be sure to click on her to see her better... the picture looks funny for some reason when it's smaller... hmmm....) The sentiment is from Showers of Blessings by The Angel Company.

I'm entering Faith in the Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge to use green, and Samuel Taylor's Challenge to use Copics or Promarkers (I actually used both!), and, at Stacy's recommendation, in the That's Krafty Thursday challenge, too.
Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to visit the Whimsy and Stars Etsy shop to see all the new spring images.  I have one on order that should be in my inbox shortly.  Yay!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Card for Katie

Hello friends!

I'm so happy to be able to share a card today made with one of the new digital sets being offered on the Help 4 Katie blog.  In case you don't know about her, Katie is our design team leader at Clear Dollar Stamps.  Right before Christmas she was diagnosed with a rare form of stomach cancer with her only treatment option being chemotherapy.  I know that crafters are a giving group of people and this is one way we can help a fellow crafter and her family, and you even get something fun in return! ☺

If you just happened on this hop, be sure to start at the beginning to see more samples with some of the sets being offered in return for your donation to Katie's medical expenses.  Then drop over to the Help 4 Katie blog to see the sets in full.

And what's a hop without prizes??  If you make a donation through the Help 4 Katie blog between February 20th and April 20th you could win a fantastic prize from one of the sponsors!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

Oh, and here's the blog hop list, so you don't get lost... ☺

Hoppy Day

Here's a card with the new Hoppy Day set from Clear Dollar Stamps.  I wish I was a chipper as that little froggy right now!!  I just had this whole post written and then I needed to fix something and POOF it was gone. Grrrr....  The worst of it is that I can't blame the computer.  It was totally my fault!  ANYWAY....

I followed the sketch at i{heart}2stamp and the challenge at Send A Smile 4 Kids.

HAVE A HOPPY DAY!

Violets

I was so excited to see this digi in the lineup at Clear Dollar Stamps this month.  I love violets - or are they pansies??!  Too bad I wasn't born in February so they could be my birth month flower!

I combined the script, small flower cluster, and February digis to make my focal image.  I basically just dragged and dropped them into my Pages program on my Mac, lightened the opacity of the Script and then made them into a group and resized it all together.  I did print an extra of the flower and colored and cut that separately.  I didn't want the script to show through the actual flower, although it does a little through the buds.  Nothing else too different, except that I thought the kraft cardstock mat looked a little stark, so I took my caramel colored marker and added in some large and small speckles to tone it down.  I *almost* set my coffee cup in some leftover coffee to use as a stamp of a coffee stain.  I thought it would look vintage.  BUT I chickened out.  I would have hated to ruin it!!

Be sure to hop over to Clearly I Stamp and see the rest of the digis being released today.  There is always something for everyone!!

Blessings!

Stars & Stamps Sketch

Hello again!  My card for today is actually being featured over on the Stars & Stamps blog for their sketch challenge.  I used the adorable singing bird from a set by The Angel Company called "Singing Praises" and the yellow cardstock is stamped with the "Quilt" background stamp by Impression Obsession.  I paper pieced the bird and colored the rest of the image with copics.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Clean & Simple

Clear Dollar Stamps came out with such pretty stamps this month!  On this card I used two sets... Bold Butterflies and Scriptures of Hope.  I stamped my butterfly on watercolor paper that I had dampened with water.  I just love the look that it gave!  Just be sure to dry it with your heat gun before stamping the sentiment.  Just sayin'...

I used the Clean and Simple sketch for the week and followed the recipe challenge over at Daring Cardmakers to use 2 ribbons, 1 button and at least one heart (mine are in my bg paper!).  They have a lovely prize this week from The Ribbon Reel!   My colors are pulled from the Crafts for Eternity photo inspiration.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

I have definitely...

...gotten my money's worth from this set!  The Angel Company has had a feature on their blog this month where there is a chance to link up your work using the featured set or one of the featured sketches.  I followed one of today's sketches, since I didn't have the set, and used Lucy again, along with another piece of the downloadable Robyn paper from TAC.  I still have a few pieces to use.  It's really gone a LONG way.  I've been surprised!

I'm entering this in the PaperPlay Challenge, too.  It has hearts and flowers, but it isn't a Valentine.

Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Cupcake Liners

Did you know that paper cupcake liners make lovely flowers???  Who knew???  The challenge today on Splitcoast was to make a birthday card using birthday supplies, so I thought it would be fun to put "my spin" on the sweet paper flowers I'd seen around blogdom.  I stacked up three flattened out cupcake liners and made three passes through my cuttlebug with different sizes of nestie dies.  Then I added a sparkly brad that I had in my stash, crumpled them all up and smoothed them out again.  The leaves are paper pieced.  Both the leaves and the sentiment are from the Clear Dollar set "Sentimental Flowers" that was released this month, and the polka dot paper is from PTI.

Blessings!

Just When I Thought...

I had time today to make a 15 minute card for the sketch challenge on Splitcoast.  I used the new DCWV mat stack that my SIL gave me for Christmas (Thanks, Kim!) and the "Love Sentiments" set from Sweet n Sassy.  The heart is all freehand... which you can probably tell by how crooked it is. ☺ The heart has dots on it because I ran it through the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots folder and then swiped it with a white ink pad.  You can click on the picture if you'd like to see it closer.

Besides the SplitCoast Sketch, I'm entering the following challenges...

Creative Cottage Challenge - Just Words
Fab N Funky - Tempting Texture

More Lucy

My card for this week's Monday Sketch Challenge on Heather's blog uses the TAC set "Lucy", and an older retired set... but I don't remember the name.  The paper is from my stash and Lucy is colored with copics.  If you look hard (or click on the picture), you can see that there is a button on the ribbon on the left, so I'm entering it in the Tuesday Throwdown challenge, too.  ☺

Blessings!

A Favorite...

Good morning, friends!

There's an amazing contest over at Papertrey and the prize is worth over $700.  Can you imagine?  To enter you need to show your favorite card from last year made with Papertrey goodies.

My favorite PTI set (that I own, anyway!) is this one with the scrumptious Vintage Picnic Baskets.  I love how this one came together.  The pretty colors, paper pieced basket and coloring with copics just make me happy.

Hope your day is lovely!

Retiform Blog Hop

My card for today's Angel and Customer hop, uses an *old* limited edition set from The Angel Company.  I love the LE sets!  They are miniatures of some of the sets in the catalog and some of my favorites to collect.  I always thought this little tag set was just lovely, so I pulled it out for today's Retiform Blog Hop and used it to make a "vintage-y" type card.   Thanks so much for stopping by!

Blessings!

Spring Violets

It's the first Friday of the month and that means another Clearly Inspired Challenge over at Clearly I Stamp!  Today we have a sketch challenge, and a free digi, too - if you'd like it!

I combined a couple of the free Spring Violets digis and colored them with Copics, before matting them on a piece of K&Co dp.  The sentiment is from the CDS clear set "Genuine Love".

I hope you'll join us!!

Blessings!

Happy Winter!

Happy February!

Here's what it looked like outside my window last night.  Isn't it pretty???

So, in honor of our snowstorm, I pulled out a Sweet n Sassy set called Winter Friends for today's Sketch Challenge over on Splitcoast.

I colored my image with copics and then sponged in some clouds and drew a "faux frame".  The dp is some I got for Christmas.  The sentiment is also from the Winter Friends set.  I punched it out with the word window punch from SU and attached it with pop dots.

Be sure to stop by Sweet n Sassy and see all the new sets that were just released.  They'll help you remember that *spring* is on the way!!

Blessings!

Another Oz-Some Sketch

I've been determined to *use* the stamps that I bought from The Angel Company last fall, rather than just let them sit in a drawer as is the fate of so many of the supplies we buy!  So, with that in mind, I've tried to play along with the blog hops and challenges over in the Angel Company's Ning Group.  My card today follows Heather's Monday Sketch, and I'm also entering it in the Pollycraft "It's Cold Outside" challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!
