{Stamp Simply} Miss You

Dear Daughter is working out of state this summer, and she has been fighting some sort of never-ending bronchitis.  Since I can't be with her to take care of her, I thought I'd stamp up some cheer in the form of this sweet little bird from the JustRite Home Tweet Home set that I got from The Stamp Simply Ribbon Store.   The green background was stamped with one of the JustRite cling background stamps called Quilted Blocks using coordinating ink for a tone on tone look.  The fun flowery "clouds" behind the bird were stamped, and then stamped again without reinking, with a flower from the Home Tweet Home set.  When I had covered the entire piece with flowers, I went back and colored between the flowers with my Spectrum Noir alcohol marker to make it look like sky.  I added a sentiment from the Stitched Sunflower set,  some pretty enamel hearts and two types of ribbon.  And I carried the dot theme of the ribbon through in my embossing.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Be sure to check out the post on the Stamp Simply blog for all of the current sales!!!

Sponged Thanks

And yet another flat card for my Dad!  I've made about 20 so far and I think he'll still need another 10 or 15.  I'm not fabulous at mass producing, so I make three or four of a style and then I make a "fun card" to break it up.  This was a "fun card". : )

I sponged the center with Gina K inks - Cocoa, Mango and Sweet Corn.  Then I stamped the flower from the You're My Favorite mini stamp set from Gina K in Black ink.  The verse is from Verve.

Have a lovely day!

{Viva La Verve) God is Good

Another somewhat flat card for my Dad to send as a thank you note.  This one is based on the week three Viva La Verve sketch and uses my new Verve Sprightly Sprigs dies and some stamps from the Joy in the Journey and Twitterpated sets.

Thanks for dropping by!

{Stamp Simply} A Time for Thanks

I'm in thank you note mode here, so today's Stamp Simply card is a quick masculine thank you made with the JustRite Time Heals set.  I stamped the clock and sentiment first, then i cut a mask with the coordinating JustRite Spellbinders Vintage Labels Seven die.  Next, I inked up the JustRite Burlap Background stamp with some kraft and yellow ink and stamped it over my masked image.  The only embellishment is a simple enamel dot.

Here's my supply list...

{TCP Tuesday} Rise and Shine!

Here's another special request card that I made for my Dad.  This one is for a CNA who always called early in the morning before they were awake..  She was another of Mom and Dad's favorites. : )

I used two sets from The Cat's Pajamas on this card... Lean on Me and Rise and Shine.  I'm entering it in this week's TCP Tuesday "Anything Goes" challenge.

{TCP Summer Blog Hop} Good Morning, Sunshine!

Hello friends!

My Mom's memorial service was yesterday, and I really needed some stamping "therapy" this morning.  My poor blog has been sorely neglected this month!  I wanted to play along with both the Summer Blog Hop for The Cat's Pajamas, and the 1 year anniversary celebration over at The Curtain Call, plus I really wanted to make a card for one of the very special CNA's that worked with my Mom over the past six months.  My sweet CNA has red hair... hence my orange theme... and she always sang "You are my Sunshine" when she went to visit my Mom.  She told me yesterday that my Mom always sang along.  Mom had a beautiful voice. : )  During Mom's final week in the Hospice House she couldn't speak at all, and couldn't really communicate, but one day her CNA came to visit and leaned over and said "You are my sunshine!".  My Mom opened her eyes wide and turned her head and smiled.  It was precious.

I used the new summer release set "Nature's Hello" from The Cat's Pajamas, coloring my image with Spectrum Noir markers.  I was inspired by the sunshine flooding the room in the Curtain Call picture,  and all the white space in the beautifully organized room.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

{Stamp Simply} So Thankful

Hello friends!

I have a Stamp Simply card to share with you today that uses the newly released JustRite set Stitched Sunflowers Vintage Labels Eight.  I really wanted to use some of my new Kaisercraft Pickled Pear Paper so I decided to go "untraditional" in my sunflower colors and simply shade them in cream to match the paper.  Because of the shabbiness of the paper, I wasn't even too particular to make sure the flower centers were completely inked.  I wanted it to have a vintage-y look... did I succeed?
I love flower sets because you don't have to stay true to life.  A cream sunflower works if it matches the paper, and it gives so much more versatility to a set that you would otherwise consider to be for autumn only.

{Stamp Simply} Let it Snow

Christmas in July is in the air right now!  I've been watching Hallmark Christmas movies and I see that the ornaments just came out this weekend.  Each year just seems to go faster and faster, doesn't it?

Today's Stamp Simply card is more of a winter card than a Christmas card, and some of you may not share the sentiment, but I always look forward to the first snow.  It's so clean and fresh and new... but I really do hope we have a few more months before it comes!! LOL!

I colored the sweet snowman from JustRite's Applique Christmas Labels set and layered him with some papers from Prima's LadyBird line.  It's not a Christmas pad, per se, but the blues are perfect for a snow scene!  The crystals add some fun sparkle and the pretty blue silk ribbon pulls together the darker blue of the scarf.

{Stamp Simply} Christmas in July

Hi everyone!  Sorry that it has been so quiet on my blog this last week.  My mom passed away on Monday night, so things are a little out of the normal here, and it might take a few weeks before I'm back to a normal posting schedule on my blog.

I do have an elegant card to share today using the JustRite Christmas Vintage Labels Seven set, the Tufted Vintage Labels Background Stamp and matching Vintage Labels Seven Dies.

I stamped the Tufted Vintage Labels background stamp onto a piece of red cardstock using red ink for a tone-on-tone look.  I stamped the curly-q frame in red ink onto white cardstock and then cut it out with the matching dies.  I inked up the little holly stamp with water-based markers and cut them out before adding them as embellishments to my frame, and then I used two different colors of green ink for a little variegation on the sentiment.  I popped the sentiment panel up over a piece of sheer ribbon and add a few rhinestones for sparkle.  Not too hard or time-consuming and fairly flat for mailing - a perfect combination!

{Stamp Simply} You Color My World

Ooooo - look!  The fall sets are coming out!!  This sweet stitched pumpkin set from JustRite is SO fun to color!  I started with a sketch from the Viva La Verve blog and picked some Hello Sunshine papers that looked fall-ish, but more happy sunshine fall-ish than dark, deep fall-ish.  I wanted a homespun, whimsical feel, so I added some lace and pompom trim, and used a decorative edge scissors on my sentiment.  Remember those??? LOL  That was what we used before dies...  in the dark ages... :)

I colored my pumpkins with Spectrum Noir markers and added a little kraft tag and a few rhinestones as accessories.

Here's my supply list from the Stamp Simply Ribbon Store...

For the simple layout of my card today, I used some of the GKD Sweet Mango cardstock, some layering weight white cardstock, and then just a snip of Turquoise sea for the tag.  The Ang & Me patterned paper makes the pop of blue in the background, and the kraft double-stitched ribbon is tied off with one of Gina's wooden Buckles and Buttons embellishments and a bit of twine.  The image and sentiment are both stamped in Gina K Designs Warm Cocoa ink.

Thanks for stopping in today!  Be sure to visit the rest of my teammates and friends and leave a comment.  We love to hear from you!!!

{Stamp Simply} Land That I Love

Happy (almost) 4th of July!

My card today reminds me of fireworks... and gingerbread cookies... do the two go together???  LOL!  I inked up the star from JustRite's Let Freedom Ring set with some white pigment ink and stamped it a few times on kraft cardstock.  I embossed them with some detailed embossing power and cut three of them out to use as my focal image.  I used some of the pretty Pebbles Americana paper for my background mats, and then popped up the sentiment so I could use another of the adorable clips on the card.  This time I accented it with a little scrap of gingham ribbon.  Two red pearls completed the layout.

Here are the Stamp Simply products I used...

Hi everyone!  Welcome back!!

Today I have a card to share with Theresa's Vertical Greetings 2 set.  This is such a pretty set, and I love these flowers!

I used some of the Ang & Me paper pack for the background, and added some Tomato Soup banners for my sentiment.  The flowers are colored with Spectrum Noir markers.

My second card, featuring the set "Keep Calm" might well be my favorite this release.  It is clean and simple.  It uses one of the new wooden Buckles and Buttons that I stained with my Warm Cocoa inkpad.  And the message is true and clear.  My hope is anchored in Jesus Christ, so I can keep calm in the storms of life.  Love it.

To make the little cross I first stamped it in black on a piece of kraft cardstock.  Then I ran it through a woodgrain embossing folder and swiped the ridges with my Warm Cocoa ink pad.  The sentiment is stamped in Fresh Asparagus ink.

So have you placed your order yet?  Which sets / supplies are your favorite??  And did you see the FANTABULOUS Incentives this month that ship with your $25, $50 or $75 order??

Thanks SO much for stopping in to see me today!  Remember that all of the new products are available NOW at Gina K Designs!  Be sure to check out the rest of the Design Team for more inspiration with the new sets, and leave lots of love. And don't forget that we have one more hop for you on Thursday!
